NYC Winter Layers

Letterman Jacket: Diesel

For the last few days I was in NYC for NYE and my birthday (January 1st). I have been to New York multiple times and have lived in many places where it gets really cold but I've been spoiled living in Miami for the last 3 years. I did not really have any winter coats so I had to rely on layering to get me through the 40 degree and below weather. The above look was a favorite of mines during my trip. I wanted to keep with a black, grey and white color scheme so I started with the plaid shirt and built my look from there. I kept the rest of my outfit pretty basic except for the letterman jacket. I wanted the accessories to help pull the look together and chose the chelsea boots instead of sneakers to elevate the look.

Stripes

For today's look I centered my outfit around a blue and white stripped tee. I wanted to be a little dressy but still comfortable. So I opted for a light weight nylon blazer and cargo chino pants to complete the look. I chose to roll the pants and wear my tan oxfords instead of boat shoes because I didn't want to look too nautical. The wide bring fedora adds a little something extra. This is an outfit where the pieces don't necessarily match but they 'go together' well to create an interesting outfit.

Seeing Red

At first I was a little hesitant when deciding to get this leather jacket, but in the end I caved in. Not a lot of people are walking around in a red leather jacket. The first time I wore the jacket I chose a grey long tee and ripped black denim which I feel is how most people would wear it. But for my second time wearing it I chose my white ripped pants and a black tee. The contrast of the white pants with the red makes the jacket pop even more, so I kept the rest of my outfit very clean and went with a solid black crew neck tee. I only accessorized with a hat, necklace and watch. I really love this look and it definilty caught people's attention both times I wore it!

Keeping it Simple

For today's outfit I wanted to keep it simple and casual but not look too basic at the same time. I started by knowing I wanted to wear a denim jacket and built my look from there. I like the contrast of an all black and white look with blue denim added. I chose a white tee, black chinos and my leather slip-ons. When wearing a simple look with no patterns accessories become very important so I wore my fedora, glasses, and leather wallet chain. Popping my collar and cuffing my chinos added a little extra styling to my look.

OOTD 8-13-15

For today's look I wanted to center my outfit around these green cargo pants. I didn't want to wear any black so I knew I wanted to wear my tan combat boots. I have this great plaid shirt that has brown white and yellow in it, which I thought would be a cool contrast against the green (and they match the boots perfectly). I like to keep it simple when it comes to tees so I opted for a white v-neck. I was going to wear a denim vest but went with the denim moto jacket instead. To finish I topped my look off my my tan fedora.

A lot of people tell me they don't know how to match there clothes. I tell them it's not about matching, it's finding what pieces compliment each other and make a cool, interesting outfit. This look, I feel, is a good example of that.

All Black

For today's look I wanted to wear all black. A month ago I was shopping and found this long zip hoodie at Zara. It's super comfortably and can be worn dressed up or casually with sweatpants and sneakers, as I've done before. I like how it looks with all black so I paired it with a long tee, my ripped denim and a black wide brim hat to complete the look. I chose to wear boots to dress it up a bit.

Drop Crotch

Today's I based my outfit around these carrot fit chinos. I chose to pair them with my green bomber jacket and brown combat boots. I thought my outfit needed a little more so I added the plaid shirt around my waist and my tan fedora. I completed this look with brown jewelry and aviator shades.

Everything I'm wearing is from Diesel except for the hat which is from Urban Outfitters. The shades are Rayban.

Madras Vibes

For today's look I was feeling very J.Crew preppy. I wanted to wear a tie and this madras one is one of my favorites to wear. I like how it looks paired with denim so I wore a light denim shirt and dark denim jeans for contrast. Usually I wear a jacket so I went with this light weight white cargo jacket to play off the white paint on my jeans. My brown oxfords and bag were perfect to complete this look.
